Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Mits. eclipse GS. 168,000
miles.  Service engine light came on
recently. Misfire in cylinder 2. I
bought some fuel injector cleaner
and mixed with premium. Light went
off but I still took car into have a tune
up. Plugs/wires replaced, throttle
body cleaned.. Fluids and hoses
checked. They were closing as I
picked car up. When I started it the
car cut off.. I tried again holding gas
down.. I was able to put in drive and
drove home.. Then noticed service
engine light had come back on.
Hours later after work it had a hard
time starting up. I once again held
down gas to start and held at about
3000 rpm.. Now it is shutting off
while driving if I take my foot off gas..
I've read multiple things for similar
issues. I'm assuming this is
mechanic error at this point. Going to
take take it to auto zone to plug in to
get code but is there something I can
look for if It won't start in the
morning?

Take it back, tell them what you posted here and have them do the scan. Right now, look under the hood and make sure that everything's hooked up and on tight. Vacuum line's and air leaks. It's things like that.

It turned out to be something with IAC when they had done throttle body cleaning. I'm still getting intermittent check engine light and code is always IAC but not having problems with shutting off and haven't noticed any issues with Idle.

My 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse will start and run for a long time but when you accelerate and go somewhere it will shut off we don't know if it's the wiring or the sensors
