Brake light switch

1995 Mercury villager van
Brake light is on even after switch replaced. The plastic button also broke and
so now what do I do ? Help!

what do you mean by brake light, the brake light on rear of car? ot warning light in dash. the one in the dash concerns your actual brakes if the light comes on they need to be replaced with new pads

you replace the broken plastic cap with a bolt and nut. here is a video. https://youtu.be/ALP6nRKM2E8

There are 2 switches, the second one is about 2" above the first one, it's call "...fail switch...", yes 2 switches, exactly the same part number...
