Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 Civic was parked almost 2yrs ago &
has been setting up since. I drive it home from
being jumped off due to dead battery. Recently' I
put new battery on car's it's good & it wont  even
turn over when  trying to crank. Where do I
begin? Why wont this car start?

There is a special procedure to starting a car after 2 years. The first is to drain the fuel tank, and the fuel is too old to even start a car. Also you might have to pull the spark plugs and add oil to the engine, etc. Search online, there are plenty of articles. But it sounds to me, your issue is electrical as well. I would suggest you have the car towed to a garage so the shop can drain the fuel for you and inspect to see what is the issue. Mice could have chewed through some wiring, etc. Also if you live in the north, the brakes might we rusted shut too.

TDolby, thank you. I am going to try those things you recommended. I really dont want to put any more money into the car so I'm not going to have my mechanic check it out quite yet. I'd really like to solve the issue myself if I can. I'm going out right now to try these things.out. Thanks again.
