Can I make this trip before junking my car after it?

Asked by Ellie Jul 16, 2020 at 02:30 AM about the 2004 Honda Civic EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’m low on money and the worst possible
thing happened. I’m about to leave for a 2000
mile drive to return home, and have 2 cylinder
misfires. I replaced my crankshaft sensor. It
still misfires. This is my ONLY option to get
home, will my car make the trip cruising at
60mph the whole way. The car is junkyard
bound after this trip? The car bounces and
audibly makes misfiring sounds at idle. I need
help. I have enough money for my bills. Pls

I would fix the misfires first. I think it will strand you on your trip.

Since you're going to junk the vehicle, don't put any money into it! Instead use the money for a bus, train, or plane ticket to wherever you need to go. You can probably get $200 for scrap which will help you get to your destination. Just be sure to wear your mask and gloves. Wash your hands frequently to. Hope that helps. Jim
