Swapping 3.6 engine from 2011 Legacy to 3.6 2013 Outback

Asked by Tony Dec 10, 2020 at 04:59 PM about the 2013 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I love my 2013 3.6R Outback, but it has 220K km, I recently;y stumbled on a
wrecked 2011 3.6 Legacy w 100K km. If the price is right I'm considering
swapping. Are there any concerns? Will it work?

Good question, but an opportunity to get an engine w/100K less kms is interesting. It would be an awesome project to do with my son as well

Store the engine until you need it. I would not risk potential problems with the swap until the original engine is toast.
