Rear ends for crown victoria

If you are changing out the third member make sure you get one with the correct number of splines. Ford 8.8" third members had 28 and 31 spline axles.

I'm changing the whole rear end from a 1999 to a 2003. Axel and all.. I'm not sure about the 3 member. How will I find out the right number spline?

The spline count does not matter when you are changing out the whole assembly.
