i know this is a silly question but will a starter from a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am fit on a 99 Chevrolet Lumina?

The chevrolet lumina will not start at all when we try to start it, it will click. The alternator
and battery are in great condition they were checked. The car ran great for half the day
yesterday, after filling the tank and run a couple of errands, got home turned the car off
and it hasnt started since;.

Sound like loose/dirty battery connections. Also what voltage is the battery at?
