RIGHT FLIP-UP HEADLIGHT NOT LOCKING IN PLACE

THE RIGHT HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY DOES NOT WANT TO LOCK IN PLACE WHEN ACTIVATED. CAR IS LOW MILEAGE AND MOSTLY SITS IN GARAGE

Hey JG ... There are just so many places where these Rube Goldberg things can go wrong. It could be the gear, gear bushings or even the headlight motor itself (although if it goes up and just doesn't stay up that would speak well of the motor. You are going to need to get in there and try to narrow down the field of potential failings. In any event you need to have a Chilton's Manual for yoiur Vette to troubleshoot these types of things (as well as the myriad of other issues you'll face). Try your local library if you don't have the $15, or see your local book store or parts store for a copy. If that fails check amazon.com or ebay. It will pay for itself in very short order!
