99 durango transmission problem

Trans runs fine in city and can drive on the highway
fine just can't get the passing gear to kick in motor
revs to red line but won't go any faster. Wondering
where to start to fig out prob

When the torque converter lockup clutch or solenoid start to go, you typically lose overdrive first. Take it to a shop that specializes in transmissions and have it diagnosed.
