Waterpump 305 5.0 84 chevy custom deluxe

After replacing my water pump the attachment
housing that my clutch fan bolts onto my water
pump came off. Can i reattach this with a special
tool?

That water pump is defective. Take it back and exchange it! Hope that helps! Jim
