95 Mustang gas gauge problems

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 Ford Mustang and the gas gauge takes about 15 minutes to reach the actual fuel level.  I read that overfilling your tank at the pump will fix it, but no luck.

I have an 08 GT and when I fill the tank with the car on, the gauge will do what yours is doing. If I have the car off when I fill it, the gauge will act like it should. Hope that helps.

My husband's 2006 Mustang is having this problem. Send him the link (above) and hopefully he'll understand it. I totally am not a "mechanically minded" person. Luckily he is. Hope it works. Thanks for the info!
