Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi experts.  Now I am puzzled with my temp gauge.  It was stuck to the cold side for a
long time.  I decided to test it out by unpluging the temp sensing unit at the engine.  I
connected the lead to ground and the needle swung to the hot side, so I assumed the
gauge is ok and the sensing unit is bad.  So I replaced the sensing unit with a brand
new one for this specific car model.  Now the needle is all the time stuck in the hot
side when the ignition is on or the car is running.  It goes back to cold when the ignition
is off. I am kind of puzzled.  Did I miss anything.  Thanks everybody!!

The parts house probably missed the boat.
