Grinding noise when using remote ?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Pontiac Firebird V-6. when I use the remote to lock the car
there is a grinding noise in the area of the headlights.. They sometimes pop
up or flash on. I'm thinking there is something electrical shorting out our the
gears with the headlamp motor might need replacement because of a short.
Finding this seems to be a common problem but no solutions for repairing...

This is unfortuently a problem with cars that have pop up head lights. It is a problem with the motor that lifts the head lights up. I do not have experience fixing this problem, but from what I read, there may be a way to fix it by flipping the gear that lifts it 180 degrees so the opposite side gets used. Otherwise, just replace the motor.
