Brake, battery & service engine soon lights are staying on.

Asked by Tammy Mar 01, 2015 at 07:00 PM about the 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving home in my 02 Altima, the temperature was
approximately 2 degrees (I live in Minnesota), I drove about 1/2 mile
and then something happened! I pushed down on the gas pedal and
it wouldn't go faster...just barely creeped along. The lights were dim
and my electric windows didn't work. After doing all this cleaning of
the sensors and other things, the battery, brake and service engine
soon lights stay on and won't go off. Any thoughts or clues?

Check your alternator,or possible bad battrey.

FYI...we are currently charging the battery for another test run! BTW, it drove perfectly, excluding the light problem, for 7 miles. Parked it and 8 hours later, it started but no speed. When it was in park and running, the engine wouldn't even rev up when pressing gas pedal! I so badly want my car back up and running!

Did you ever find out what was wrong? Pretty much the exact same thing happened to my 2011 Nissan Sentra tonight, and I'm trying to find some answers.

I have the same alert!!!!he battery, brake and service engine lights

It was the alternator along with a cracked radiator. The 'service engine soon' light is still on but the car drives great!
