why does my car sound like it has a waterfall inside? and why does it keep dying?

every time i push the clutch in, the engine just about dies. and it was running really hot
before, but i put some water and coolant in and it seems fine, just the waterfall sound and
the dying problem now

when was the last time you changed your thermostat ? or are you saying you got the over heating problem fixed ?

its not really overheating anymore after i added the water and coolant. just dies randomly and sounds like a waterfall

you have any check engine lights ? and I wish I knew or could imagine what you mean by sounds like a waterfall exactly .. could your possible get a clip of the sound?? not to be picky but try to not get a bunch of door dings and other stuff but a clip would be great though

i can try. and the check engine light just came on today. but has been sounding like this for a few weeks

it only makes the waterfall sound and dies when i drive it around town. once i get up to about 30mph, it just goes away until i stop again. i had my mechanic that is a SFC look at it, and he said that the water pump is probably bad
