How do I get EGR to set?

Asked by Linda Feb 08, 2021 at 03:43 AM about the 2003 Mitsubishi Galant ES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Trying to set EGR on 2003 Mitsubishi Galant 3.0L-- did all
drive cycles still not set. Replaced EGR still nothing. How
can I tell if something is not connected properly that is
needed for a SMOG test? Noticed that this is not connected
is it supposed to be connected to something?

The EGR readiness monitor will only set if your gas gauge is between three quarters and one quarter full. When the gas gauge is in that range just drive normally for a few days and the readiness monitor will set. Hope that helps! Jim
