My Passanger side door will not open. How do I get it open without breaking anything.

Asked by jeffa1003 Apr 19, 2015 at 09:00 AM about the 2000 Mitsubishi Galant LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Something inside my passenger side door apparently broke and now I can't get the door open, using either the inside or outside door handle. How do I gain access to the internals of the door without breaking something (since I can't get the door open)?

This is basically what you or the shop will have to do to get it open. I have seen other videos where they saw a hole right through the support beam and cut the entire lock mechanism right out. Major pain to open a stuck door. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHMe-5VpxM8
