1989 mercury cougar

Asked by GuruB1VXW Jan 04, 2019 at 03:38 PM about the 1989 Mercury Cougar LS Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I took the dashboard apart and it looks like I broke something that looks like a
motherboard. It has wires that clip to it. Can anyone tell me exactly what this
part is and if I can get a replacement would be a great help, thanks joyce

The picture is pretty blurry but it does help. It looks like a heat shielded heater blower motor resistor or control module. They are available at rockauto.com for $20 or at the dealer for a million bucks...just kidding about the dealer. You can Google that Ford part number and you will see it better. It doesn't look like anything electrical fell off. It's just a heat shield so I would put it back and keep going.
