Noise during deceleration

2004 mercury monterey 4.2 liter base has
developed a very loud noise during deceleration
after its warmed up when accelerating noise
goes away

Noises are hard to diagnose over the internet based off a description. Have a mechanic take the vehicle for a test drive. A couple guesses would be the transmission to a wheel bearing or engine related.
