Lost Ford key/ how to use new key

Asked by Trichardson1231 Nov 25, 2018 at 04:14 PM about the 1998 Ford Expedition 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I lost my key to my 98 ford
expedition and I am trying to use
a spare key.  When I put it in and
try to start it, the anti theft starts
blinking and it won't start.  How
can I program this new key to be
recognized by the anti theft and
start my vehicle.  I need help asap
because I need to go get my
daughter tonight and she is 2
hours away.  Please if anyone can
help, please reach out

Maybe a locksmith can program it but you may have to go to a Ford dealer. I will post a link that Might help.
