Accidently locking key FOB in car

Asked by GuruGZ1GB Aug 15, 2020 at 01:26 PM about the 2018 Chrysler 300 Touring RWD

Question type: General

I'm just curious , I got out at the Post Office the other day and almost locked
my FOB in my 300 { engine was off } . I decided to test this after i got home
where i could access the spare FOB . It did in fact lock it in the car with no
way to get back in the car . Is there something that can be changed in the
settings  to eliminate this ? also if you get out of the car with the FOB on you
, the is no alarm to let you know that the FOB has left the car ( again just a
test because I do not leave my car running and walk off )

The FOB can be locked in the car , I already tested that once I got home . The door did lock with the fob inside and the car running. Also there is no alarm sound if you you get out of the car with it running and the FOB in your purse. I also have a Hyundai , if you get out of the car while it is running with FOB in your purse , and alarm will beep . Also if you try to lock the door manually with the FOB inside the car , the door lock automatically unlocks itself. So I was just wondering why a newer car does not do the same thing
