2014 Chrysler 300 key fob question.

Asked by Bobby Feb 10, 2017 at 01:55 PM about the 2014 Chrysler 300 RWD

Question type: General

So if you leave your car fob in your car for
several hours, will it lock itself and not let
you in unless you use a spare fob or a key to
open the door? I ask because I think I left the
fob in the car and it wont let me open the
doors or unlock the doors. I may have lost it
somewhere else but i figure should ask first.

That doesn't sound right, leaving a fob in the car should not keep you locked out when using a spare key or fob. I've never heard of a car self-locking either, with a fob in the car or not. I'm not familiar with Chrysler's passive entry though, if you have a manual with your car check that. I realize this isn't much help, sorry.

Leaving the FOB in or near some vehicles can cause the battery to run down because some of the body control modules can stay "awake" looking for a response from the FOB. Maybe look around in the vehicle for the lost fob?????
