Replaced my starter. It fired up. After three or four times, it would no longer turnover. Is the problem the starter, ignition, or wiring?

is the starter cranking? if cranking, is fuel in the cylinder drenching sparkplug? remember that the fuel pump is mechanical.

The starter is not cranking. When I first put in the new starter last week, it started right up 3-4x, then it wouldn’t crank. Yesterday, unwired it, change the connector on the ignition wire cuz it didn’t fit tightly on the male connector from the starter solenoid, fired right up. 3-4 cranks it fired up, but now won’t crank again.

Did a voltage meter test. Got 12.4 volts from the battery to the starter solenoid. Got 12.4 volts from ignition to the starter solenoid. The starter is getting power from both ends. I can jump start the starter as well. The only thing it can be is a bad solenoid.

hey john i have an 82 camaro that i put a 350 motor in it. i also added an electrical fuel pump instead of the mechanical pump. when i start my car she sounds great and i will put it in drive and start down the road she'll run great for about 2 miles then she sounds like its choking and dies. when i try to restart it in nuetral thers times it will run a lil rough and die when it is put in gear or there are times it won't start back up. what are your suggestions 3 Answers
