Chevrolet 350 1976 c10

I just puf a new 350 in and put my old quadra jet on
it was running ok but not good so i cleaned the
carb and now it starts up good and what not but
when i go and drive it down the road it just wants
to stay running like your giving it gas and it wont
every stop i have to shut it off or the rpms will just
keep Rising

Is the choke sticking open? Secondaries sticking open? High idle screw adjusted? Carb cleaner only gets you so far, may be time for a rebuild. But first I would try adjusting the choke and high idle screw, the choke has to be adjusted with a cold engine. The choke thermostat may also be mis-adjusted. Try looking up Youtube vids, plenty of them on adjusting old quadrajet carbs.
