Asked by Tom Jan 13, 2019 at 11:57 PM about the 2002 Jeep Wrangler X

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Engine runs at about 2,000 rpm upon starting and
continues for a short period of time. Also smells
like it's running rich.

A high idle when cold is normal. If it is running much higher than usual look for a vacuum leak.
