In my mom's 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ Limited there is a tapping noise coming
from the passenger side of the dashboard. What could it be?

Probably something to do with the climate control. The older 80s chevys used to make a knocking sound in the dash due to the motors they used to control the flaps that direct the routing of air

Blend Door Actuator. Super common. There is one for each side. Get service department to fix. Under dash and a pain to deal with.
