power steering seems to have a lick

power steering seems to have a lick.  It makes noise when oil is low.  when more oil is
added, noise goes away.

Inspect for leaks. Could possibly be the hoses or the pump shaft seal. If it's the pump shaft seal next time it gets low add some CTC in with the power steering fluid(CTC is available at car quest stores) it will swell the shaft seal back up and most times will stop the leak. It's not a thick honey fix it reacts with any rubber seals and causes them to swell.
