Won't start

Asked by Peg77 Sep 14, 2017 at 03:06 AM about the 2003 Pontiac Montana SE Extended

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello. My name is Peggy.  I have a 2003 pontiac
montana. Earlier tonight leaving my mom's my van
started fine I drove to the nearest shop and turned
her off. When I returned, my van wouldn't start.
When I turns the key everything lights up in the
dash but when I turn the key to start her everything
goes black and she won't even turn over. I was
thinking it was the security feature but I'm not sure.
Could it be something else?

It could be a dirty battery terminal end. Try removing and cleaning the battery terminal connections.

I believe it's the security feature. Put the key in the ignition, turn to almost start. Come back in 10 minutes. Van should start. Security system failing to recognize key. Has to have time to re- recognize key.
