2004 montana won't start

Asked by Phill May 14, 2016 at 01:49 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Montana Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

turn ignition all electrical turns on but starter won't engage
replaced starter,both starter relays (one in underhood fuse box and one beside rad mount near battery) get 12.5 volts to starter when trying to start and 12.5 from battery.
tried starting in neutral to eliminate neutral safety switch.
what am i missing?

put car in gear and move a few inches then park and try it
