IS THEIR A WAY TO CHECK TO SEE IF THE TIMING BELT NEED'S REPLACEMENT.
PREVIOUS OWNER NOT SURE IF BELT WAS REPLACED

remove the valve cover and upper timing belt cover. If the belt is shinny, loose, or looks old, have it replaced, along with the water pump. Worn belt will have shinny lines that go across the belt, in line with where the belt teeth meet the timing pulley teeth.
