It is a tedious job tracking down why these things don't work, Broken wires, bad drive modules, but the most common problems are bad switches, or broken wires between the door and door jam.

And blown fuses! Always check those first, especially since some cars have split circuits and don't always mark them properly, you could have more then one fuse for them.
