Cut out and die

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2000 Ford expedition had the fuel pump go out.
Once replaced the truck will sputter and cut out
and even die alot when you come to a stop. What
could this be?

If replacing the fuel pump did not fix things, maybe it wasn't the fuel pump. Next I would replace the fuel filter. Then check/replace the fuel pump relay. Next, fuel pump regulator. Check engine light on?

Hornet_2597, maybe I should have added that to start with I replaced the fuel filter, sending unit and relay then the pump itself. However, the fuel level hasn't worked right since changing the pump. No warning of low fuel anymore it just runs out. Fuel pressure is good in the fuel rail as well. Check engine light is on due to abs. I believe my truck has about seen it's better days as it has over 300k miles on it and still runs hard just has the sputtering and wanting to die as well as dying issue going on right now. It's been an amazing truck and I hate to shed it but I've got to get something that's not going to die with my 7th grand baby coming soon.
