2001 expedition ran out of gas and won't start

Parked car, tried to start it a few days later and
cranks but won't run. It acts like it's not getting
spark. Tried starting fluid in the intake, makes no
difference. It just turns over. Won't even sputter.
Just turns and turns. Fuel cut off relay button was
depressed,  and if you hit it it pops up. When
pushed it goes down and stays down. I don't know
now if it's supposed to be up, or down. I've put gas
in, a gallon once and then another gallon and a half  
at another time. Don't know what to do. I moved to  
Arizona, came back to get my car and am stranded
in Washington. Help!
