Why is my car over heating

I changed the thermostat cause it was bad and started to
over heat so the guy at auto zone gave me the wrong
gasket so I couldn’t put the gasket in yet only the
thermostat I bought a new one just not out in yet I drive it
probably 100 miles and it started over heating again
there’s coolant in it but the guy who changed my
thermostat mevwr bleed the coolant through so maybe
that’s it? Hell!

are the fans coming on when it gets hot ? is the thermostat in backwards ? it should be ok if you keep the coolant topped off (air pockets) What does the exhaust look like ?? look under the oil fill cap what do you see ?

i had the same issue on my car one of my 2 fans on the radiator was shot check and make sure both of them work one will always run the other is for when you turn on your a/c
