2000 Honda Civic head gasket problem?

I have recently been having overheating problems
on my 2000 Honda Civic and I replaced the
thermostat because it was getting stuck closed.
After fixing that about a month ago, my car was
functioning good but then I had somthing blow up
under my hood and coolent was leaking out of the
side of my block and had a misfire on 2 cylinders. I
just took the head off of my car and need to replace
the head gasket, I’m just not sure what I should do
next, should I bring my head to a machine shop? Or
just throw a new gasket on it and put new head
bolts in? Also included is a picture of my valves and
was just wondering why they were so white.
