Stabilitrak warning

Asked by Cesar Dec 04, 2021 at 11:58 AM about the 2015 Chevrolet Impala 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Stabilitrak warning continuously comes on as im
cruising and the other day the car just stop and
shut off as I'm driving. Lights would come on but
the car would not even crank over to start at all for
about 20 minutes, then out of no where it decided
to start and run smoothly as if nothing happened
without any warnings. There is also a grinding
sound centered underneath the car. Any idea as to
what this problem is. Both batteries on the vehicle
are brand new.

Most times when STABILITRAK message appears steady ON along with (Engine Power Is Reduced) in the Information Center indicates that there may be a problem with the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system and/or PowerTrain performance and the vehicle may need service. it works along with the Traction Control System to assist driver in maintaining directional control of the vehicle. You may need a Scan Tool to check the PCM for any DTC and do the appropriate repairs. Check the throttle body and clean it just inside (if it is dirty with grease/oil) with a suitable solvent or carburetor cleaner. Let me know if you don't know the procedures to clean the Throttle Body. DO NOT clean position Sensor or Solenoid. Take it to the dealer for service if this does not work for you. Thanks.
