2012 impala, stabilitrak and traction control issues

Asked by Chevy1298 Aug 08, 2019 at 12:00 AM about the 2012 Chevrolet Impala LTZ FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 impala with about 115000
miles. I am having problems with the service
stabilitrak, reduces engine power and
traction control off problems. I wash the
engine bay like I have done many times
before with low pressure water. Now It is
throwing the codes P2138 and C0242. I have
pulled all the wiring harness plugs that I can
think of and cleaned them with electrical
cleaner (not sure if I got them all). Swapped
the gas pedal out with another (no change).
Checked both wires running from the harness
to the wheel hubs ( all good).  If I do unplug
the battery it will sometimes shut the check
engine light and traction control light off for a
bit but they come back on.  Not to sure what
else I can do with putting money in it for
parts

Stop washing the engine! Electronics do not like water.

I have a 2012 also and I started having problems a few months ago. Looks like this is a common problem with these cars after reading all these posts.
