If the fuse won't stay where it is supposed to go, you need a new fuse box.

A new fuse box is the ideal way to fix it, however you can drop down the box locate the circuit that has the problem from the back side then cut and splice in a fuse holder on that circuit with the correct amperage fuse, make sure you solder and shrink wrap all the connections, if you can't shrink wrap then use liquid electrical tape, may take more than one coat to provide proper protection.

how do you pull the gold thing out of the fuse box

You don't, you cut the wires off from the back side, those will then be soldered and shrink wrapped onto one end of the fuse holder, then the other end of the fuse holder will be spliced into the power wire on the other side of the broken fuse box connector, effectually removing that circuit from the fuse box altogether.
