Running rough

Asked by matteaton1993 Jun 09, 2018 at 09:55 PM about the 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA

Question type: General

I have  a 1987 pontiac firebird with a 350 tune port
I just put in it. It had the 305 tune port before, I
used the 305 heads and intake and tune port tube
on the 350 but now that I got it running I'm having
issues with slight back firing and what sounds like
a miss. Not sure what the issue is

Backfiring is usually tied to either a timing problem or leaky fuel injectors. Start on these and see where it takes you. Also, check your firing order and make sure no plug wires were incorrectly routed to a cylinder or two.
