Not difficult with the proper tools. A "Pickle Fork" and a hammer will do the job. An air Impact hammer is even easier. But either way, you still need the right tools. Yes, you can pound it apart with a hammer alone but, you run the risk of damaging the Steering gear, either or both steering knuckles and smashing a finger or two. Swinging a hammer upside down sucks anyway.

You're quite welcome. Enjoy your Crown Vic - it's actually faster than any of the newer Crown Victoria PI's! The newer ones have a computer controlled throttle body that backs off of the throttle to shift gears - your has a cable and keeps the power on as long as you hold the pedal down!
