Subaru Forester 2012

Asked by GuruGBHL Feb 03, 2020 at 03:48 PM about the 2012 Subaru Forester 2.5X

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently bought a 2012 Forester. After some issues with engine light and
burning oil, mechanic discovered the oil burning problem notorious in
Subaru. Yeah Me. Another is loud banging vibration in rear especially on
bumps  A little shaking too. Telling me there is no safety issue, just a Subaru
noise. Anyone else with similar experience? After 2 months I am ready to get
rid of it and trade.

Loud banging in the rear suspension? Do not ignore it! The Subaru oil consumption really sucks, forget the 0W20 oil and try 5W20 or 30 which may reduce the oil consumption somewhat.
