Why does the coolant light come on when started?

Asked by Lil_Bat Aug 27, 2015 at 02:15 PM about the 2012 Ford Taurus SEL AWD

2012 Ford Taurus.  Sat for 2 weeks and when started, the engine coolant light
stays on and the AC doesn't get very cold.  Coolant is full.  Any ideas?

You may have a defective cooling sensor...

I had to put the ac refrigerant in my car for the air conditioner to get colder...problem in mine I believe it has a hole where I add the air conditioner refrigerant too. And over time it leaks back out...I put a can in and it stayed cool for bout 3 months ... ((where I add ac refrigerant to in my 2005 Ford tarous is under Neath hood way back ..it's closer to the windshield...
