Weird noise

My car just started making a weird noise, it sounds
like when the muffler rattles it makes that rumbling
noise, but it is coming directly from the engine.

If it's a tinny sounding rattle, check for a loose heat shield in the area of the starter. If it's a louder exhaust sound with possible ticking, may be an exhaust leak. Other exhaust noises may come from rusted exhaust pipe or flange connections at the catalytic converter(s) or muffler.
