What causes the radiator fans to stop working?

Asked by choo Mar 01, 2013 at 09:46 PM about the 1999 Chrysler 300M FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car drove for about three hours then it overheated. After having it towed home, I discovered neither of my radiator fans would come on.

The first thing to check is whether the temperature sensor and relay are working. Also, and this may sound strange, make sure they are plugged in! It could be that only one was working for a period of time, and the second finally quit. Verify that they do work, by running a hot supply to each of them.
