Rubbing sound while turning steering wheel, 2001 Sebring LXi

Asked by markbdag Nov 18, 2013 at 04:15 PM about the 2001 Chrysler Sebring LXi Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Rubbing sound at low speed or stop from front wheel area when turning steering wheel.  When I take some weight off the left front wheel, the sound goes away.  Sounds like rubber or plastic, not metal-on-metal.  Wheels seem tight, no bearing or tie-rod issues.  126,000km.

look under front end while someone else turns wheel. Look and see if the fender is catching on something like the tire.
