My temp gague in my 04 buick
rendezvous is acting weird it will
almost overheat then shoot back down
real quick. Ive replaced the thermostat
radiator and radiator cap. Mind you it
doesnt overheat just comes close then
shoots back down. Also when i
accelerate after being stopped my car
makes what seems to be a whinning
noise. It sounds like its having trouble
but comes out of it quick any ideas?

From your discription of what the gage is doing, my long distance guess is the temp sending unit. You can probably do a Google search and find where it is located....usually around the thermostat. It unscrews and you screw the new one in. You will need some sealant for the threads. I think that will solve the problem. If the sending unit does not solve the problem, then it will be harder to track down.
