MY truck stopped running for now apparent reason

I was driving down the road at about 40mph and all of a suddent my powere
steering was getting tight as if it was not working and all the dash lights
came on. I immediatly pulled to the side of the road and i lost all power and
the engine stopped running all together. I put it into park and shut it off and
turned it back on and it started up just fine and ran just fine, however the
engine light continues to stay on. Any ideas before i go get a code reader
and go from there? Its a 2007 Ford Explorer V8 4.6 with unknown miles but i
think its about 250K

I did some research with others who had a problem with unexplained acceleration with this model and year and came up with possibly a problem with gas/fuel-related issues. So I replaced the Fuel Rail pressure sensor and the throttle pedal sensor or simply the entire gas pedal assmbly. This seems to have fixed the problem.
