Increase in performance

Asked by GuruHDN1X Apr 07, 2020 at 12:16 AM about the 2004 BMW 3 Series 325i Sedan RWD

Question type: Car Customization

So I have a BMW 325i E46 with the M54 and I love
it but im wondering what I can do to it to make it
faster. I don't want to add a turbo/ supercharger
kit to it. Im looking for some smaller things like a
ram air filter set up or after market exhaust. just
looking for a few mods that can increase HP and
torque 20+ any ideas are helpful.

Ram air and cold air are gimmicks. You already have a cold air intake from the factory and it's tuned to your engine. See this post on rip off mods https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/do-cold-air-intakes-work/

Nothing really without spending tons of money, the BMW E46 is tuned for performance. Do the normal maintenance on it and keep it running like a top.

Cams, headers and a custom tune could help. A BMW performance specialist could give you more advice. No cheap and easy power if that is what you have in mind.
