Jeep Grand Water pump

Asked by bgribble87 Sep 03, 2019 at 10:19 AM about the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, had the water pump replaced in 2017 at
76,000 miles. I just had to take it into the shop, it was making a squeaking
noise when I would hit the breaks, and when I shifted into D,P or R. When I
parked it and turned it off, I heard a noise, and there was a lot of steam coming
from the hood, and fluid leaking out of the bottom, the shop is saying its the
water pump again. How long should they last? Its been 2 years and maybe
30,000 miles.

Yes, it certainly should last longer than that however, if it was a remanufactured water pump it could have a bad seal.
