Fixed water pump and jeep clicks when you try and start it?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My water pump went out so a friend of mine replaced the
water pump. After it was supposed to be fixed my jeep
wouldn't start...it just clicks one time. Before they took
apart everything I didn't have any issues with it starting.
I've bought a new battery and just replaced the starting
not even 6 months ago. Any suggestions

Bad electrical connection. Jeeps are known for corrosion in the battery cables. So look there first.

You should be VERY selective who even touches your car .
If your Jeep started fine before the work, then something happened during the work. That single click indicates that there isn't sufficient juice reaching the starter motor/solenoid, and there are two primary, suspected causes. Could be a defective solenoid if someone poured coolant on it when the water pump change was done. Could be a loose battery cable if he had removed a cable while the work was done and failed to properly tighten it.
But, I didn't try to start it.
I replaced the battery. Starter was replaced 6 months ago. Solenoid? Okay I will mention that.
Did you install the serpentine belt correctly? Take the belt off and see if it starts.
